Increased Success through Restorative Endodontics – 7CE
April 18 @ 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
7:30 am to 8:30 am – Registration and Breakfast
Presented by Real World Endo®
Lecture and Hands-On Session
Speaker: Mario E. Abdennour, DMD, MMSc
Spend a day with our guest instructor, Dr. Mario Abdennour, learning about the latest developments in endodontics and the opportunity to experience them first hand. During the morning lecture session, you will receive evidence-based updates on: access preparation, cleaning and shaping based on anatomical principles, and obturation and root repair using bioceramic materials. Clinical cases will be discussed in detail that will demonstrate both basic and advanced instrumentation and obturation techniques, as well as some technique variations to handle challenging cases.
The afternoon hands-on session will give you practical experience with Three-Dimensional (3-D) endodontic instrumentation and obturation techniques. All participants will have the opportunity to validate these concepts in the workshop.
Real World Endo remains dedicated to the preservation of the natural dentition.
Through illustrated lectures and hands-on experience, you will learn:
- The foundations of endodontic success.
- To triage basic and advanced cases and apply the correct instrumentation for each case.
- To apply two different instrumentation techniques for managing different canal anatomies (conventional and 3D).
- To recognize the benefits of sealer based obturation using bioceramics.
- To identify the various applications of ultrasonics.
- How to use integrated apex locator-handpiece technology.
- To place posts using a matching post and core system.
Please bring a size 35/04 file sample from your current rotary system to compare to XP.
IN ADDITION, ANY ACCESSED, EXTRACTED TEETH YOU MAY WANT TO WORK ON.
Meet Mario E. Abdennour

Following his dental degree, he attended a postgraduate general practice residency at a U.S.C. affiliated hospital in California. In 2000 he received his specialty certificate in endodontics, as well as a Master in Medical Sciences in Oral Biology from the Advanced Graduate Endodontic Program at Harvard University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Abdennour currently holds a faculty appointment as a clinical instructor at the Advanced Graduate Endodontic Program at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he teaches on a part-time basis surgical and non-surgical endodontics. During his specialty program he also trained in surgical endodontics at the Karl Franz University Hospital in Austria. Upon graduation from Harvard, he was the class recipient of the Krakow Award for Clinical Proficiency in Endodontics. In addition, Dr. Abdennour has conducted endodontic research at the Forsyth Dental institute in Boston contributing in the patent of a therapeutic endodontic agent. He has also instructed and presented live endodontic surgery at the Endodontic Program of the West Virginia University School of Dentistry. Dr. Abdennour has also served as the President of the Greater Salem District Dental Society in New Hampshire and as the Chairman of the Merrimack Valley District Dental Society in Massachusetts.
