FULL DAY, PART 1

Digital Dentistry for Private Practice
Implants, Aesthetics and Occlusion

CAD/CAM technology has the advantage of reduced clinical chair time and reduced laboratory costs. The accuracy of these techniques has improved to the point where they are now comparable to conventional techniques. This presentation will review the current technology which allows the fabrication of an implant abutment using scan bodies and emergence formula for ideal aesthetics and tissue preservation. In addition, anterior implant protocols will be reviewed and the use of CAD/CAM Provisionals for ideal tissue contour will be demonstrated. The fabrication of ceramic full coverage restorations and veneers, with an in-office technique, will also be demonstrated. Occlusion principles will be discussed as they relate to new materials and their application in private practice.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this lecture the participant will understand the ad-vantages and disadvantages of:

  • 1. Computer generated abutments
  • 2. Ceramic full coverage for teeth and implants.
  • 3. Digital occlusion principles with all ceramic restorations and implants
  • 4. Implant abutment fabrication using CBCT scans
  • 5. Complete CAD/CAM Implant Abutments and Restorations

FULL DAY, PART 2

Full Mouth Rehabilitation: Implants Aesthetics and Oc-clusion

Comprehensive Treatment Planning (CTP) is a great tool. Many clinicians try to develop these skills but never really complete the process. Believing that our patients need this approach and that m many of them have “Occlusal Disease” is the first step to recognizing the need for “CTP”. Since our dental school education we were always told that “we could not open the bite”. Many clinicians avoided treating the collapsed Vertical Dimensions, others had great success. This program will help de-mystifiy with practical methods of how to restore OVD position up to 10 mm. The long term success of these patients with these techniques has been documented and recorded both radiographically and with photographs with up to 15 year results. Using sound prosthodontic principles and digital analysis these OVD restorations can become standard in our private practice. Utilizing implants aesthetics and occlusion for CTP will further enhance our understanding to help our patients get the best treatment possible. Anterior determinants and posterior determinants can show us the way through the ideal CTP approach.

Objectives:

At the conclusion of this lecture the participant will understand the ad-vantages and disadvantages of:

  • 1. Determining new approach to CTP
  • 2. Utilizing provisionals to confirm new OVD position
  • 3. Anterior and Posterior Determinants for OVD
  • 4. Classification of the Full Mouth Rehabilitation patient
  • 5. Techniques using CT scans of TMJ Joint for OVD Maintenance
