The AGD is More Than You Think
Many of you think you know about the Academy of General Dentistry whether you are members or not. You know that they promote and provide continuing education, they keep track of your CE records, and offer Fellowship, Mastership, and LLSR as professional goals for your career. What you don’t know is that all of that is just the tip of the iceberg.
Did you know that the NJAGD also supports the students at Rutgers with not only financial help but also with quality CE at the school? Did you know that the AGD is the only national organization which speaks out solely on behalf of general dentistry? Whether the issues range from anti-trust legislation to mid-level providers, the AGD is there with your viewpoint. Did you know that white papers produced by the AGD have gone on to influence not only our entire profession but also our local, state and national legislators?
Right now, the AGD is working to revolutionize the way we will receive CE in the future with a whole new system on the horizon. We are reaching out to our colleagues to make sure that we are relevant to them. We are also currently organizing our next annual Scientific Session, the new benchmark for continuing education in the future.
However, we can’t do it without your help. If you are not yet a member of the AGD, please join us. You will not regret it. If you are already an AGD member, consider becoming involved with our NJAGD Board of Directors. They are a very energetic and cohesive group, but they could always use more help. You will also get to know an outstanding group of colleagues.
